Shinola Hotel

Housed in the historic bones of the T.B. Rayl Co. department store and Singer Sewing Machine Company building, the Shinola Hotel offers a luxury boutique experience in the hometown of the eponymous brand. Having opened its doors in 2019, the reimagined hotel space by Shinola and Gachot Studios pays homage to Detroit’s historic architecture and industrious aesthetic inspired by the burgeoning art scene in the city as well as the leather goods and timepieces best known by the Shinola brand. Detroit’s first and only MICHELIN Key hotel, Shinola Hotel boasts 129 rooms, numerous event spaces, and five food and beverage concepts from award-winning chef, Andrew Carmellini, including upscale Italian restaurant, San Morello; beer hall, The Brakeman; and fried chicken spot, Penny Red’s. Additionally, guests can shop specially curated options at Parker’s Alley with a mix of global brands in addition to homegrown businesses.
