elNico is the new rooftop bar and restaurant on the roof at Penny Williamsburg, serving imaginative Mexican food and drinks with majestic views of the Brooklyn and Manhattan skylines. The menu is a reflection of Executive Chef Fer Serrano’s Mexican roots and her family’s favorite recipes, with influences drawn from her experience working at some of the finest restaurants in the world (Pujol in CDMX, Osteria Francescan in Modena, Italy, Cosme in NYC, El Cellerde Can Roca in Girona, Spain). Highlights of the menu include innovative takes on classics like Caviar Sope, Pink Mole and Pulpo Pibil – a whole fried octopus served with toum, xnipec and house-made tortillas. With an emphasis on agave-based spirits, the cocktail program under the direction of Leo Robitschek (NoMad, Eleven Madison Park) complements the food with fresh, seasonal flavors and locally sourced ingredients. Pulling inspiration from his storied Manhattan career and Venezuelan roots, Robitschek has tailored his creativity to elNico with unique creations including the Bon Bon Old Fashioned, Panamericano and Santo Pepino. Set in a vibrantly artful, plant-filled space, elNico’s dining room and terrace are open for dinner and drinks every day and brunch on weekends.
