Bar Etienne

Bar Etienne is a New York cocktail bar with a French kitchen from Michael Bray, the hospitality veteran behind Bar Valentina, and Keith Larry, known for his decade-long tenure at Employees Only. Together, they bring more than two decades of experience across downtown New York hospitality and nightlife. Located at 44 Bedford Street in the West Village, the intimate, familiar space is a bar at heart, flexible enough for a quick martini, dinner at the bar or a night that lingers. Larry’s technique-driven, ingredient-focused cocktail program centers on playful, elegant “crushers” with approachable flavors. A concise French- and European-informed menu and Old World wine list make it just as easy to settle in for dinner. Bray’s interiors take cues from classic bistros through the lens of a downtown corner bar, with patio seating for golden hour and a room that gets looser and a little rowdier after sunset.
